Welcome!

We are a non-profit, certified 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to the after care of Thoroughbreds once their racing career is over. We rehabilitate and re-train our four legged friends in order to prepare them for their second career. We are accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, one of only two such facilities in Connecticut and one of only 74 throughout the entire United States.

Our Mission: Life After the Finish Line

Racing For Home was founded in 2010 by Acacia Courtney. The mission is to help transition retired racehorses, one thoroughbred at a time, for a second career. This includes helping to network other Off-Track Thoroughbreds (OTTB’s) to connect them with prospective homes off the track. Others we take in to our program to rehabilitate and retrain, all of which get considerable let down time to acclimate to life off the track. This includes our 10 OTTB’s we currently have within our program.
